Megaview, a division of Megapro Holdings, has been awarded the contract to provide four brand new state of the art LED screens at the Bidvest Wanderers, PPC Newlands, SuperSport Park and St George’s Park stadiums.
Each screen, measuring 200 square metres, will replace the existing scoreboards installed in 2001 for the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Megaview appointed to provide brand new LED screens at major cricket stadiums in SA
The screens will serve multiple uses including scoreboards, replay screens, in stadium messaging, fan engagement and stadium information.
“We are extremely excited by the opportunity these screens will provide the cricket Unions and franchises, the spectators as well as the players and officials. No other country can boast this many screens of this size,” said Megapro COO, Simon Franklin.
The technical specifications are very impressive with a 10mm RGB (Red Green Blue) screen being utilised that will optimise the colour contrast and picture quality for both live and broadcast consumption.
Megaview will be responsible for the instillation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the screens, further solidifying their position as the leading LED supplier in the South African sports arena.
Cornelle Ferreira, GM of Megaview “We are happy with the appointment as it adds to our already impressive list of products we provide to several rights holders throughout South Africa,” commented Megaview GM, Cornelle Ferreira.
“We are particularly pleased as these screens will enhance the already impressive 360 degree LED advertising solution we have been providing to Cricket South Africa for the past 3 years,” concluded Ferreira.
Installation work has already begun at the stadiums and the screens will be ready for use by mid October 2017.
