Samsung joins SA Rugby family to back the Boks in a deal brokered by Megapro
The famous name will appear on the team’s shorts for the first time in tomorrow’s Castle Lager Rugby Championship Test against Australia at Emirates Airline Park to visibly mark the start of the two year agreement, thanks to the Megapro Team.
“Samsung is a global leader in its field and we’re delighted with our new partnership,” said Jurie Roux, CEO of SA Rugby.
The partnership will see both the Springbok rugby team and SA Rugby exclusively using the latest Samsung consumer electronic products to enhance every-day performance.
Cambridge Mokanyane, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung South Africa, said: “As one of the country’s top sporting codes, rugby has long been close to the hearts of many South Africans.
“As an organisation, we understand how pride and passion fuels success and are excited to harness this energy and back the Springboks in their quest to become world champions again.
“We believe in the power of sport to unite people from all walks of life and with passion at the core of our own operations, Samsung is honoured to be included as part of the SARU family. We will be joining millions of supporters the world over in shouting ‘Go Bokke’ as the team prepares to compete against the world’s best.”
“We welcome Samsung back into the SA Rugby family. For us, having two powerful brands come together is always a reflection of the great confidence we have in the value that sports can play for brands to connect with fans and users of their products and services. There is real excitement about the journey ahead for Rugby and we look forward to embarking on this journey with Samsung,” added Bronson Mokabela, Deputy CEO of Megapro.
